Patio Happy Hours in St. Paul

23 bars and restaurants with outdoor patios and happy hour specials in St. Paul, MN.

Updated

Minnesota summers are famously short, and St. Paul locals treat patio season with the urgency it deserves. The moment the weather turns, the capital city's outdoor seats fill fast—and the variety is part of the fun, from Grand Avenue sidewalk tables set against Victorian storefronts to riverfront perches near the downtown bluffs and shaded neighborhood patios tucked behind old brick buildings.

Timing and location matter when you're chasing an outdoor seat. Downtown and Lowertown patios catch the after-work crowd early before the district empties, while the Grand Avenue and West Seventh corridors stay lively into the evening. On event nights near the arena or ballpark, patios closest to the action turn over quickly, so arrive early if you want to settle in. Many spots run the same happy hour menu indoors and out, so weather never has to derail the deal.

Use the list below to find St. Paul's patio happy hours, then plan around the sun, the crowds, and the calendar. Given how fleeting the warm season is here, the golden rule is simple: when the patio's open, take the seat.
