What’s the TCHH Score?
The TCHH Score is our 0–10 read on the happy hour deal itself — a clear, objective baseline so you can compare places faster. It’s a starting point, not the whole night out. Atmosphere, service, and “is this my vibe?” still matter. We built the score to help you skip the weak deals and spend more time at the good ones.
The score can’t be bought
Venues can pay for larger listings and extra features on this site, but payment never changes a TCHH Score — not by a single decimal. Paid placement affects where a venue appears on a page; the score itself is computed only from the venue’s happy-hour hours and specials. This is permanent site policy.
What it looks at
In plain terms, it weighs the happy hour information on the listing: how often it runs, whether the hours are actually useful, whether there’s real food and drink value, and how clear those specials are. Same idea for every venue. We don’t grade patios, music, or how friendly the bartender is — that’s what filters and a visit are for.
What it doesn’t measure
A high score doesn’t mean you’ll love the room. A lower score doesn’t mean the place is bad — it might just mean the deal is thin, vague, or barely on the calendar. Use the score to size up the offer, then use filters like patio, dog-friendly, and neighborhood to match the experience you want.
Amenities stay separate
Patio, dog-friendly, parking, live music, and kid-friendly information is still available as filterable tags throughout the directory. Those details help you find the right setting, but they do not raise or lower the deal score — a great patio does not make the drink discount itself any better or worse.
For visitors
Think of it as a cheat sheet: stronger deals rise up; sketchy or empty happy hours don’t get a free pass. Pair the score with the times, specials, and “Updated” date on each page so you’re not gambling on stale info.
For venues
Want a fairer score? Make sure we’re not missing your real hours and specials — use Report an update on your listing. Keeping that info accurate is free and never tied to paid features. We won’t publish a point-by-point formula; we will keep scoring everyone on the same deal-focused yardstick.
